What’s a Suitable Tether Site?
Choosing the right location ensures a seamless experience. Here are the requirements:
Size: Minimum 200’ x 200’ clear area (about half a soccer field)
Terrain: Grassy field, parking lot, or other relatively level spaces
Obstructions: Free of trees, buildings, and posts. Power lines must be at least 250 feet away.
Anchoring: We use a four-point tether system with vehicles, trees, light posts, or embedded ground anchors, depending on site conditions.

Weather Requirements
Hot air balloons operate best in winds under 5 mph and calm skies. While we do everything possible to predict favorable conditions, weather can change unexpectedly. In such cases, we will work with you to reschedule, postpone, or cancel as needed. If we arrive and conditions are unsafe for flight, a setup fee will apply.
Setup and Break Down
Arrival: Our pilot and crew arrive approximately two hours before the event to familiarize themselves with the site.
Setup Time: Balloon setup typically takes under an hour.
Breakdown: Packing up usually takes less than an hour and can be quicker with the help of volunteers.
Volunteer Opportunities: We welcome volunteers for roles like ushering, rope management, and balloon pack-up. As a thank-you, volunteers get a crew ride!
Cancellation Policy
Notice: A minimum of 72 hours is required for cancellations to avoid forfeiting the deposit. Weather-related cancellations are exempt.
Flexibility: In the event of unexpected weather, we’ll work closely with you to reschedule.
Contract Responsibilities
Deposit: A 50% deposit is required to secure your booking.
Permits and Permissions: Clients must ensure all necessary permits and landowner permissions are in place.
Site Access: Ensure the site is accessible for trucks and equipment.
Anchors: Clients may need to assist in providing suitable anchors such as vehicles or other heavy objects.
